David is a dedicated football coach and evaluator with extensive experience identifying and developing talent at multiple levels of the game. His passion for football is matched by a strong commitment to helping young athletes reach their long-term goals, both athletically and personally. With coaching experience ranging from peewee football to 5A high school programs in Colorado, David brings a comprehensive understanding of player development across every stage of the game. He is widely respected for his ability to recognize talent and potential that may be overlooked by others, particularly in athletes who are still developing physically or technically. Since beginning his coaching career in the early 2000s, David has coached and mentored numerous athletes who have advanced to every level of football, including Division I programs, arena football, and the NFL. While these accomplishments are notable, he takes the greatest pride in the athletes who have gone on to build successful lives off the field as professionals, community leaders, husbands, and fathers. David’s background includes experience in scouting, game planning, and positional development. His coaching roles have included varsity assistant offensive and defensive line coach, varsity defensive coordinator, junior varsity head coach, wide receivers coach, and outside linebackers coach. He has also served as a head coach and offensive coordinator at the middle school level, providing valuable insight into early player evaluation and long-term athletic projection. In addition to coaching, David has professional experience in sports media, having worked with Sports Radio AM 950 The Fan, contributing to coverage of the Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets, and Colorado Rockies. This experience strengthened his ability to communicate evaluations clearly, thoughtfully, and professionally. David believes strongly in evaluating the complete athlete, emphasizing football IQ, work ethic, coachability, and character alongside physical ability. His approach aligns closely with SMWW’s mission of thorough, honest, and developmental scouting, ensuring athletes are evaluated fairly while being guided toward realistic opportunities for advancement. |
