Alex Marks

Alex Marks was born in May 1974 in Portland, Maine, and lived in the coastal Maine region all his young adult life until he went to Syracuse University in 1993 for undergraduate education and graduated with a degree in marketing management in 1997. He then served as a legal professional for the next six years within the financial industry in Boston, going to law school from August 2002 to May 2006 and graduated with Juris Doctor from New England School of Law in Boston. He then moved to Colorado shortly after graduating law school in June 2006 and continued his career as a legal professional until June 2023.

He has had a steady career involvement within the baseball field and industry, starting a long time ago as player dating back to my days in secondary school of being on his school’s varsity baseball team for all four years. He then had a stint of coaching in Portland Maine’s city summer youth recreation little league during the summer of 2000 shortly after moving back to Maine after his undergraduate education, as well as two stints coaching youth baseball for the City of Denver from summer 2010 and summer 2013.

He then became a member of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) in December 2013. He served as the Secretary of the Rocky Mountain Chapter from September 2016 through December 2016 He also is now servicing as a Membership Ambassador for all new members within SABR nationally, starting this role in July 2023. He also has been certified as a Level One Conversational Analytics and Critical Thinker in Baseball by SABR in January 2022, and will be seeking a SABR Level Two and Level Three Certification shortly.

He since been certified within the Sports Management Worldwide (SMWW) baseball courses of Baseball General Managing and Scouting (May 2023), Baseball Analytics (October 2023) and Baseball Player Development (October 2023). He is currently seeking to advance his professional career in baseball through professional scouting.
